At St Martin’s Pre-Primary School, all policy is framed within the context of the school’s mission and its Christian values. We view our policies as general statements of purpose and intent, as guidelines for planning and decision-making and for the implementation of strategic plans.

Our policies are shaped by an awareness of national, local educational, political, technological and environmental imperatives, and by the specific purposes and framework of St Martin’s. They are also informed by legal and registration requirements, i.e., the South African Schools’ Act and the Independent Schools’ Association of Southern Africa’s guidelines for school governance.

Our policies are not inflexible and static but are subject to ongoing revision and adaptation.  All stakeholders in the School have a shared responsibility, both for shaping and implementing policies.
